Affiliated Retailer:

Any natural person or organization (including a corporation, partnership, proprietorship, association or cooperative) which is franchised by, or which is controlled by or is under common control with, a STAR Merchant. For purposes of this definition, the terms “controlled by” and “under common control with,” as used with respect to any person or organization, shall mean the possession of the power to direct or cause the direction of the management and policies of such person or organization, whether through the ownership of assets or voting securities.
